Pasadena, California: NASA experts are creating a ChatGPT-style program for astronauts that will help them perform various tasks in space.

“The aim of this concept is that space vehicles can communicate with us and we can talk to them, whether it is in Earth orbit or in the solar system or somewhere beyond it, it can be called the next generation of space communication. It is,’ said Dr. Larissa Suzuki of NASA.

NASA intends to use this system for the Lunar Gateway, a space station orbiting the Moon in the Artemis mission. Its interface will be in natural language and instead of reading long instruction charts, astronauts will be able to take instructions directly from the software for their simulations, experiments and tasks.

It will use both AI and machine learning. It can then be used for scientific payload transfer, data transfer, automation and overall maintenance of the gateway. These include automatic removal of data errors and other important issues.
