Islamabad High Court sought details of 59 missing Baloch students

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has asked the government for details about 59 missing Baloch students, the court has directed that the Home Secretary submit a detailed report about the 59 students with his signature.

A hearing was held in court number two of Islamabad High Court on the request of Advocate Iman Mazari to stop the harassment of Baloch students studying in different universities of the country.

The court ordered the Registrar to submit reports on the cases of 59 students to the Commission on Enforced Disappearances. The Assistant Attorney General requested that some time should be given to the Additional Attorney General to give arguments.

Advocate Iman Mazari argued that 69 Baloch students were missing, 10 returned, 59 are still missing, Mengal Commission has also written that 59 Baloch students are missing, these missing students are from Karachi University, Balochistan University and from different universities of the country.

The court remarked that the disappearance of 59 students is an important issue but the government has not yet fulfilled its responsibility, the government has not yet done anything to trace the students.

The Islamabad High Court directed that the Secretary Home should submit a detailed report on these missing students, if there is any case against these students, they should also inform the Secretary Home, if they are missing or involved in any activity, inform the court if there is a case. .

The court adjourned further hearing of the case till September 19 while seeking details.
