Washington: The death rate in traffic accidents in the United States has reached the highest level in 40 years.
According to US media, the data released in the new report showed that in the last year 2022, more than 7,500 people died as a result of being hit by vehicles on or crossing the road. This is the highest pedestrian fatality rate in four decades.
Adam Snyder, a spokesman for the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), said the numbers are mind-boggling. In other words, this means that 20 people are killed in traffic accidents on a daily basis.
The spokesman said that then you think how many people are affected by these deaths, including the deceased’s family, relatives, neighbors, friends, guardians and priests etc.
“I am at a loss for words looking at these results and considering the impact of these deaths,” he said. This situation is really scary.
