Chairman Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Mohsin Dawar has said that no matter how big a criminal someone is, you cannot take away the right of power of attorney from him.
During the conversation in Islamabad, Mohsin Dawar said that there is no reason not to issue a power of attorney to a Pakistani citizen on behalf of the mission. Why should one’s father be deprived of this right on the basis of his views?
The Chairman Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs added that there could be legislation to give consular access to Kulbhushan.
They said that this is not an explanation and there is no collective punishment law, power of attorney and self defense is their right.
Mohsin Dawar also said that the response given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the in-camera session was nothing special.
