Rawalpindi: The rains continue in the twin cities, resulting in inundation of low-lying areas.
According to Express News, the rain is continuing in the twin cities, as a result of which rainwater has accumulated on the low-lying areas and highways.
According to the Meteorological Department, 59 mm of rain has been recorded so far, 45 at Syedpur, 53 at Golra, 55 at Bokra, 48 at PMDH 8, 48 at Shamsabad, 49 at Chaklala. 59 mm of rain was recorded, meanwhile the water level in Nala Lai has started rising, the water level at Katarian in Nala Lai has reached 10 feet and at Gwalmandi bridge it has reached 8 feet.

A pre-alert warning is declared when the water level reaches 11.4 feet at Katarian and 8.3 feet at Golmandi in Nala Lai.
Spokesperson Mohamaka Mosamiyat says that late at night, Managing Director WASA Rawalpindi Mohammad Tanveer was monitoring the ongoing drainage operation in the city, while WASA staff was busy with heavy machinery to remove water from the low-lying areas.
