Around 2500 people died in Turkey and Syria due to the 7.8 magnitude earthquake.
According to Western media, a Dutch scientist predicted an earthquake in Turkey on February 2.
The said scientist whose name is Frank Hoogerbets said that between 4th and 6th of February a magnitude 7.5 earthquake could occur.
The Dutch scientist said that an earthquake could occur in south-central Turkey, Jordan, Syria or Lebanon. The predictions were made based on the geometry between the planets and the Sun and the electromagnetic effects on Earth.
More earthquakes were also predicted in central Turkey and surrounding regions in the coming days.
According to the western media, since today’s earthquake, the debate has started whether it is possible to predict earthquakes.
Western media further says that in December 2022, a scientist warned of a major earthquake in the same area.
