A farmer in the Indian state of Karnataka committed suicide after failing to find a bride.
According to Indian media reports, a farmer in Karnataka’s Haveri district committed suicide by consuming poison after not finding a bride.
According to police reports, the man has been identified as 36-year-old Manjunath Nagnoor, who was looking for a girl for marriage for the last 8 years but when all efforts proved futile, he committed suicide out of frustration.
Manjunath Nagnoor allegedly left a note, in which he mentioned his troubles, police said.
He wrote that his parents were worried about not getting a girl for marriage, and he decided to end his life out of hopelessness and despair.
Police said that a case has been registered at Bayadgi police station and investigations are on.
