Islamabad: The trend of increasing inflation rate continues in the country.
The inflation rate increased by 0.33 percent in the week ended yesterday, while the overall inflation rate on an annual basis has been 34.05 percent, according to the weekly inflation report released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics. It has been said that in the recent week, 20 essential items were expensive and 12 items were cheap, while the prices of 19 items remained stable.

According to the report of the Institute of Statistics, flour became expensive by 4.95%, potato by 2.60% and sugar by 2.49% in a week. The prices of dal mash, chicken, beef, mutton, garlic also increased. Apart from this, bananas became cheaper by 5.56% and LPG by 4.30% in a week. Onions have become cheaper by 4.03% and tomatoes by 1.63%.
