Canada passes bill to ban Facebook and Instagram news

Ottawa: A new bill has been passed in Canada that will prevent Facebook and Instagram users in Canada from viewing Canadian news.

According to global media reports, the Canadian government has passed a bill requiring both platforms to pay for online news broadcasts.

The new law requires Facebook and Instagram to deal with Canadian media outlets to share their news and information on their platforms.

The new law is based on Australia’s new Media Bargaining Code, which requires Google and Meta to pay relevant media houses for news content on their platforms.

It should be noted that Australia also accused the two platforms regarding online content that they are stealing the funds of the organization by sharing the content of other media organizations for free on the platform.
