In Kandahar province, Afghanistan, the Taliban have banned female employees from working on a refugee project.

An official letter issued by the Taliban has banned women from working, although some organizations have made exceptions for their female employees.

The letter said that the aid agencies working in the Aspenboldak area were violating the government order.

According to the text, all organizations associated with the Department of Refugees in Aspenboldak have been directed to instruct their female employees not to come to work until a fresh notice is issued.

A spokesperson for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said they are aware of the directive and are seeking clarification.

The letter stated that there is an uncertainty of working in Afghanistan for aid agencies that exempt women employees.

According to the text of the letter, according to the order of the Supreme Leader, women employees cannot work, but some organizations have been allowing their women employees to work in violation of the order.

It should be noted that the Norwegian Refugee Council, an international organization, said in May that it had taken exception to the use of female staff for its operations in Kandahar.
