Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres in Paris. On this occasion, the Prime Minister warmly welcomed the Secretary General of the United Nations and expressed his best wishes.
The Secretary General of the United Nations welcomed the Prime Minister with warm feelings of reciprocal goodwill. On this occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that he considers Secretary General Antonio Guterres as the benefactor of Pakistan. Can’t forget Antonio Guterres’ help during the flood.
The Prime Minister further told him that Antonio Guterres is an eyewitness of the destruction caused by climate change in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister informed the Secretary General of the World Organization about the measures taken to restore the flood victims and said that the economic pressure on the developing countries has increased due to climate change. Developing countries have problems in increasing growth rates and maintaining fiscal balance.
He said that the loss and damage fund in COP 27 should be utilized for financial assistance to developing countries.
The Secretary General of the United Nations appreciated the commitment of the Prime Minister and his government for the rehabilitation of the flood victims.
It should be noted that this meeting took place on the occasion of the global summit on the new global financial agreement.
