Karachi: The Special Investigation Unit of the CIA foiled an attempt to smuggle heroin abroad by filling it in laptop bags and capsules and arrested two smugglers.
According to SSPSIU spokesperson Junaid Ahmed Sheikh, accused Waqar Hussain son of Iftikhar Hussain and Muhammad Faisal son of Muhammad Rajab were arrested near SM Law College and more than 1 kg of heroin hidden in capsules and laptop bags was recovered from them. Done.
The accused wanted to smuggle heroin to Dubai and Sri Lanka. Both the smugglers used to smuggle heroin-filled capsules to Dubai and Sri Lanka by hiding them inside their bodies and fixing them in special laptop bags specially imported from Dubai.
The heroin was sold to Abu Khalid in Dubai and to a man named Michan in Galle, Sri Lanka. The arrested smugglers were buying heroin worth 10 lakhs and selling it outside the country for more than 25 lakhs.
The accused have revealed that they used to buy drugs from a person named Yasir, a resident of Lyari. According to the spokesman, the investigation of the accused is ongoing and further revelations are expected.
