Instructions to set up coordination cell for DNA, DNA samples of relatives of passengers to be collected
Islamabad: Regarding the death of Pakistanis in the Yunnan boat accident, the government of Pakistan has decided to conduct a DNA test to identify the 78 dead, while on the instructions of the Prime Minister, a control cell has been established in the Ministry of Interior.
The government has issued directives to form a coordination cell for DNA, which will include representatives of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the FIA.

The cell will collect DNA samples from relatives of the ill-fated boat passengers. Camp offices will be established wherever necessary, including in Islamabad and Azad Kashmir.

Locations for DNA samples will be determined and next of kin will be notified. DNA tests will be conducted in consultation with the Pakistani Embassy in Greece. Coordination will be done with Punjab Forensic Lab for DNA test.
A control cell has been established in the Ministry of Interior
On the instructions of the Prime Minister, a control cell has been established in the Ministry of Interior regarding the tragedy in Greece. Additional Secretary Border Management will be in charge of the cell while the representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, FIA and other institutions are also included in the cell.
The said cell will get the information of the Pakistanis on board the boat and other information, work will also be done regarding ANA sampling and other matters, the cell will also be in touch with the Punjab Forensic Agency and other laboratories.
There, a team of doctors led by Commissioner Mirpur Shaukat Ali reached Khoi Ratta to take DNA samples of the relatives.
In a press conference along with DIG Dr. Khalid Chauhan, Commissioner Mirpur said that the Yunan boat tragedy is a great loss for this region, the incident has shaken the whole world, the characters involved in the incident will be brought to justice.
He said that a team has been formed for DNA which will collect the samples of the victims, two tests will be taken from each house, they are always standing with the people in their difficult hour.
DIG Khalid Chauhan said that ten people involved in human trafficking have been arrested, no one involved in the heinous business will be given a discount.
