Google has announced that photos and documents shared in Hangouts will be deleted by July 19. Photo: File
San Francisco: Until a few years ago, there was a very popular Google Chat tool called ‘Hangout’. Now Google has announced that the photos and documents you shared on it will be removed by next month.
Photos associated with Google Hangouts are stored in an ‘album archive’ that you can share in a location at any time. Countless people have now received an email from Google asking them to download and save album archive photos, as they will be deleted by July 19. Similarly, users can also create backups on Google Takeout.
Google also said that the background or comments etc. written in ‘Hangouts’ will also be removed. But remember that the alternate takeout link that Google has provided will only work for seven days. In the meantime, album archive photos will have to be saved elsewhere. However, Google Photos will not be affected.
