The embassies of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have resumed operations

December 2022: UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Qatar Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani

The embassies of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reopened today and have resumed operations.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in its statement that the Foreign Ministers of the two countries, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, also had a telephone conversation on the occasion of the opening of the embassies.

It should be noted that in 2017, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt severed relations with Qatar. These countries accused Qatar of supporting terrorism.

Saudi Arabia and Egypt have appointed ambassadors in Doha during 2021, while Bahrain is yet to open an embassy.
