Occupied West Bank: Plans to build thousands of buildings for Jews

Occupied Jerusalem: The Israeli government has introduced plans to build thousands of buildings in the West Bank.

According to international media reports, under the agenda of Israel’s Supreme Planning Council, a plan to approve 4,560 housing units in various areas of the West Bank has been presented, which will be decided next week. Of these, 1,332 buildings are for final approval while the rest are undergoing the preliminary approval process.

Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smutrich said on the occasion that we will continue to build settlements and strengthen the Israeli grip on the area.

In response to the aforementioned Israeli plan, the Palestinian Authority responded by saying it would boycott the Joint Economic Committee meeting with Israel.

It should be noted that the US considers this plan of Israel as an obstacle to lasting peace with the Palestinians. Benjamin Netanyahu decided to build more than 7,000 new housing units when he took office as prime minister in January.
