Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that there is vast potential of solar energy in Pakistan.
An important meeting was held in Lahore under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, in which a briefing was given on the progress of the country-wide solarization project.
According to the statement, a detailed briefing was given on the policy of alternative sources of energy in the meeting and also the policy making related to solar energy was reviewed.
Addressing the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the government has ensured measures to generate electricity from alternative sources, especially solar sources.
On this occasion, Shahbaz Sharif directed that the process of transferring government buildings to solar energy should be accelerated.
He said that low cost electricity production will be possible with solar energy and valuable foreign exchange will also be saved.
The prime minister said that the policy making process related to solar energy should be speeded up and finalized soon, Pakistan has vast potential of solar energy.
