Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed that the process of transferring government buildings to solar energy should be accelerated.
According to Express News, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on policy making related to alternative sources of energy, especially solar energy.
Federal Minister Khawaja Asif, Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan, Syed Naveed Qamar, Riyaz Hussain Pirzada, Adviser to Prime Minister Ahad Khan Cheema, Special Assistant Jahanzeb Khan, Chairman NEPRA and relevant senior officials attended the meeting. The participants were given a detailed briefing on the progress on Prime Minister’s Nationwide Solarization Project and the Alternative Energy Policy.
Speaking to the participants on this occasion, the Prime Minister said that in the upcoming budget, the government has ensured steps to produce electricity from alternative sources, especially solar sources, and the process of transferring government buildings to solar energy should be accelerated.
He said that not only low-cost electricity generation will be possible from solar but also valuable foreign exchange can be saved, the policy making process related to solar energy should be accelerated and finalized soon, there is vast potential of solar energy in Pakistan. Is.
