Despite US sanctions, Iran’s oil exports hit a new milestone in 2023.

According to the foreign news agency, consultants, shipping data and sources related to the matter have confirmed this.

Iran’s crude oil exports stood at 1.5 million barrels per day in May, the highest since 2018.

Oil exports were 2.5 million barrels per day in 2018, according to data provider Kepler, before the U.S. ended the nuclear deal.

Iran said in May that it had increased its crude oil supply to 3 million barrels per day.

The International Energy Agency this week declared Iran’s oil production at 2.87 million barrels per day in May, which is closer to Iran’s official figures.

Iran’s oil exports rose as OPEC plus countries, Russia and other allies cut oil exports.

It should be noted that China is the biggest buyer of Iranian oil, while Syria and Venezuela have also bought oil from Iran on a large scale.
