Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former South African fast bowler Morne Morkel as the bowling coach of the national cricket team.
In the announcement issued by the board, it is said that the former South African fast bowler has been named as the new bowling coach of the Pakistan team and given a 6-month contract. He will also perform duties with the national team in the World Cup scheduled in India.
Morne Morkel from South Africa has taken 309 wickets in 86 Test matches, 188 wickets in 117 One Day International matches and 47 wickets in 44 T20 International matches in his 11-year international career.

The former fast bowler played his last T20 international match in September 2017 for the World XI against Pakistan in Lahore.

Morne Morkel’s first assignment will be the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.
It should be noted that the last Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was played in July 2022, which was tied one apiece.
