Remittances fell by 12.8% in eleven months

Karachi: In the first eleven months of the financial year 23, the amount of money received in the form of remittances was 24 billion 800 million dollars.

According to the data released by the State Bank, during the first 11 months of this financial year, the total volume of remittances by Pakistanis living abroad was 24 billion 800 million dollars, which is 12.8 billion dollars compared to the same period last year. The percentage is low.

According to statistics, 2 billion 10 million dollars were received in the month of May in the form of workers’ remittances. In terms of growth, remittances fell by 4.4 percent month-on-month and 10.4 percent year-on-year in May.

Major remittance inflow countries in May include Saudi Arabia ($524 million), United Arab Emirates ($335.8 million), United Kingdom ($306.5 million) and the United States ($257.2 million).
