Karachi: One robber was killed and another escaped injured in an encounter between police and robbers on Rashid Minhas Road in Gulshan Iqbal area of Shahr Quaid. The dead accused belonged to the Lyari gang war.
According to the details, two suspects of Lyari gang war were fleeing after committing a robbery in Gulshan Iqbal when the police reached the spot, the robbers opened fire on the police, one suspect was killed while the other escaped with injuries.
According to SSP East Zubair Sheikh, the accused are involved in looting from citizens whose criminal records are being obtained, the police had information that the accused are involved in robberies at some places in Gulshan.
He said that the police chased the accused and one accused was killed in a police encounter, identified as Barkat, while the search for the absconding accused is on, both of these accused are related to the Lyari gang war. Modern weapons and motorcycles have also been recovered from their possession.
