The Pakistani American community celebrated the second Pakistan Cultural Festival on Sunday in Sacramento, the capital of the US state of California.
Pakistanis from every region of Pakistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan participated in the capital Sacramento and its major cities Roswell, Folsom, Granite Bay, Rocklin, Elk Grove and Natomas. .
In this important Pakistani festival, Roseville Mayor Bruce Haudschild and Vice Mayor Krista Bernas Cooney not only attended but also addressed and appreciated the organization of such festivals.
The highlight of the program was a famous Pakistani-origin artist, rapper Zaki Bhai, who introduced the cultural heritage of Pakistan in his original English poetry, which was well received by the participants.
The festival was held in an arena in downtown Roswell.
Asif Haq, who performed the duties of Nizamat, said that its aim is to introduce the heritage of all regions, nationalities, languages and cultures of Pakistan to the local population and the people of other countries living here.
This Pakistani cultural festival was started last year. On this occasion, Pakistani men, women, children were wearing colorful traditional Pakistani clothes. Every color and race and region and country were represented in it.
Apart from Muslims from India and Islamic countries, some Hindu and Sikh families also participated and appreciated the organization of this festival.
He emphasized the need that such fairs provide better opportunities to improve relations with other countries.
In this fair, Pakistani food Biryani, Bihari Kebab, Qeema Paratha and Halwa, Kebab Roll, Kashmiri Chai, Faluda, Kulfi and Lemonade drinks and other food items as well as regional handmade products and colorful men’s and women’s clothing, shawls, Stalls were set up for Pakistani sports cricket, football, which were very popular.
Pakistani regional and Sufi music, dance and other entertainment programs were also presented.
Among the artists who performed their art are music guru Shahid Chishti and his daughters, Rafat Sultana and his brother Shakhawat Ali Khan.
