Karachi: A criminal inquiry has been initiated against the Assistant Director Corporate Crime Circle and others for allegedly stealing Rs 30 lakh from the representative of the money changer company.

Sindh Director Salam Shaikh issued criminal inquiry orders against Assistant Director Shaukat Raza and others. The head of Anti-Corruption Circle has been directed to bring out all the facts related to the incident.
Before the inquiry, all the investigating officers involved in the alleged scam were locked up in the zonal office of Karachi on June 7. Sindh Police DSP Shaukat Raza and Sub-Inspector Abu Umeer, posted on deputation in FIA, are not ready to come forward since the incident came to the knowledge of the authorities.
An FIR was registered in the police station on May 20 against the report of the April 14 incident against the money changer company representative. According to the FIR filed by the representative, Rs 30 lakh was allegedly stolen from the representative in the name of FIA. According to the complainant, the money was taken from him by the allegedly involved officials on the alleged charge of money laundering.
