Lahore: The 41st anniversary of Santosh Kumar, the famous romantic actor of Pakistan film industry is being celebrated today. Fewer actors were lucky.
The famous actor of Lollywood was born on December 25, 1925 in Lahore. Real name was Syed Musa Raza, this great actor of his time started his artistic career with the movie ‘Aahsta’.
He rose to prominence in 1950 in the Punjabi film ‘Belly’ and in the same year played a history-making role as a hero in Pakistan’s first Urdu Silver Jubilee film ‘Do Ansu’.
By 1982, he had acted in 84 films, his hits include Ghonghat, Rishta, Daman, Sarfrosh, Qastam, Pramada and others.
Santosh Kumar, who made romantic roles memorable with his acting, worked with Sabiha Khanum, the popular actress of his time, in about fifty films and then made Sabiha Khanum his spouse.
Santosh Kumar’s first Nigar Award for Best Actor was presented to him in the film “Waida”, later he was also awarded with several awards including Stara Imtiaz. And will always live in the hearts of his fans thanks to his brilliant acting.
