The statement about Sindhi language was wrong, Naseeruddin Shah admits

Mumbai: India’s senior and well-known actor Naseeruddin Shah admitted the mistake on the statement about Sindhi language.

It should be noted that a short clip of Naseeruddin Shah’s interview went viral on social media, in which he said that Balochi, Dari and other languages are spoken in Pakistan, while Sindhi is no longer spoken.

The actor was slammed and criticized by Pakistani consumers and showbiz personalities for this statement.

Now Naseeruddin Shah admitted the mistake on his Sindhi-related statement and said that ‘It seems that a new controversy has arisen due to my two statements, in which one statement was related to the Sindhi language in Pakistan’.

He admitted that ‘I was wrong on this matter’.

Naseeruddin Shah said that my second statement was about the relationship between Persian and Marathi language, which was misinterpreted because I meant to say that many Marathi words are also included in Persian.

The actor said, “My aim was not to destroy the Marathi language but to show how diversity strengthens all cultures. Urdu itself is a mixture of Hindi, Persian, Turkish and Arabic.”

He said that English has also borrowed words from European language which are not included in Indian language and I think that is the reality of every language spoken on earth.
