Famous Pakistani actor Muneeb Butt was summoned by the Karachi City Court on June 7 in a defamation case.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against Muneeb Butt was directed to provide a progress report on the application filed by the Judicial Magistrate South in the defamation case and the actor to appear before the court in person. was also requested.
A hearing was held yesterday in Karachi City Court in response to the request of Advocate Faiq Ali Jagirani in the court of Judicial Magistrate South.
Muneeb Butt’s lawyer submitted an affidavit during the hearing in the court, but petitioner Faiq Ali Jagirani objected to the affidavit, claiming that Muneeb Butt’s signature on the power of attorney was wrong and the address was not given.
He further argued that Munib Butt should be summoned to the court to confirm the power of attorney.
He expressed his displeasure with the FIA investigating officer and pointed out the officer’s failure to submit the required report despite court orders.
Taking notice of the objections of Advocate Faiq Ali Jagirani, the court ordered Muneeb Butt to appear in court personally and adjourned the hearing till June 7 requesting the investigating officer to submit a progress report at the next hearing.
