Karachi: The Sindh government has decided to conduct the election of Mayor Karachi by show of hands.
According to the details, after the completion of the local body elections, the mayor and deputy mayor will be elected, for which there are laws of show-of-hand and panic polls in the Local Government Act, however, the Sindh government has made the mayoral elections a show-of-hand. It has been decided to do it.
The Election Commission of Pakistan had sought an explanation from the Sindh government regarding the election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor, on which the Sindh government has also informed the Election Commission of its decision.
Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah in a special conversation with Express News said that we want to implement the existing laws, the mayor’s election will be by show of hands because we want to make the mayor’s election transparent.
He said that the single largest party in Karachi is only PP, whose mayor is also the right of PPP. It is not our fault.
