Palo Alto, California: In the race to best the virtual reality headset, Meta has already announced its new virtual reality (VR) headset ahead of Apple.
According to the details, the 128GB VR headset will go on sale in September 2023 before Apple’s annual event. It is priced at $499. Increasing the storage will make it even better. It is slightly lighter and more comfortable than the Quest Two.
The Verge website claims that Meta’s new headset will be 40 percent thinner in optical profile. To make it faster, it is equipped with a Snapdragon chip that offers twice the graphics compared to the Quest 2.
Meta has said that it is compatible with Quest 2 games, which can play all games from the previous version. Another important thing is that Meta has reduced the price of the Quest 2 from $100 to $299 for 128GB from June 4th. While the price of 256GB has been reduced by $80 from $429 to $349.
But the Quest2 is also getting a software update that could boost its speed and performance.
It should be noted that earlier the news was hot that Apple company is presenting its mixed reality headset which is expected soon but before its official announcement Meta has revealed the news of its headset. Quest 3 will be unveiled at a formal event on September 27.
Meta engineers have said that they have also made fundamental changes to improve this VR headset.
