Karachi: Water Board introduced digital system to secure water supply through tankers.
Karachi Water and Sewerage Board has digitized the tanker system to make water supply from government hydrants through tankers more hygienic. Under this system, citizens have been provided with better facilities.
In the new system, the water board will have a QR code attached to all the tankers that supply water to the citizens from the government hydrants, which will confirm to the citizens that the tanker belongs to the water board and the user will also receive a QR code receipt. Citizens can get complete information about the water rate, fixed time and its duration from this QR code to be provided.
In this regard, Alha Bakhsh Bhutto, in-charge of the Water Board’s hydrants cell, told the Express newspaper that on the instructions of the MD Water Board, the water supply system through tankers in the city has been digitized for the convenience of the citizens. It will be known whether this tanker belongs to water board or not.
He said that any tanker that leaves the seven government rehydrants in Karachi will have a QR code attached to it, which citizens can scan and get complete information. , Citizens should get water only through water board tankers as it is hygienic water while not taking water from illegal hydrants.
All tankers supplying water from hydrants are checked under the direction of the MD to ensure that no tanker is dispatched without chlorination to prevent nigellaria. In this regard, special instructions have also been issued to focal person hydrants Shahbaz Ahmad.
According to medical experts, the required amount of chlorine is being added to the water. No tanker can leave government hydrants without adding chlorine.
