bill to: In Afghanistan, two friends turned a cave into a school to educate girls.
According to the World News Agency, 18-year-old Roya Sarfaraz and 19-year-old Baiz Begum built a school in the cave to teach other children in the village due to the closure of schools and lack of education opportunities in the backward province of Bamiyan, Afghanistan.
A total of 80 students are studying in the school where children are taught for 3 to 4 hours daily.
The two friends cleaned the cave with the help of other children. The walls of the cave were decorated with paintings, calligraphy and various paper crafts to keep the children interested.
The two girls walk from home to the cave every day despite bad weather and teach Persian, English, Mathematics, Geography and other subjects including drawing.
The boys and girls studying in the cave school are between the ages of 4 and 15 years. Most of the children expressed their desire to become teachers, doctors or pilots in the future.
According to the United Nations, 28.3 million people in Afghanistan need urgent humanitarian assistance, with women and children the most affected, while millions of children are out of school.
