Islamabad: Pakistan rejected the statement by US lawmakers regarding the violation of human rights in connection with the arrests after the May 9 events.
It may be noted that a group of more than 65 members of the US Congress had sent a letter to Secretary of State Anthony Blanken urging Pakistan to ensure that the country fulfills its human rights commitments. Do it. Bob Mendez, chairman of the US Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, recently expressed similar concerns.
Reacting to this development, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that Pakistan does not agree with the position of the US Congress members regarding the situation that occurred in the wake of the May 9 events.
He added that you must have seen the statement of the National Security Committee, which has clearly stated the factual situation regarding the May 9 incidents. It has full capacity to deal with the country’s challenges.
