Collision between police van and dumper in Karachi, police officer killed

The policemen were returning to Karachi after performing duty from Kachmore area on official duty

Karachi: A police officer and a person were killed in traffic accidents while one officer was injured.

The deceased police officers and personnel were posted at the RRF Baldia Naval Headquarters and were returning from an operation against dacoits in Kachch area in Kashmore, Sindh.

According to the details, as a result of a collision between a police van and a dumper near Super Highway Lucky Cement Factory in Gadap City, a police officer in the van was killed and an officer was injured.

The body of the deceased and the injured were initially taken to Bakai Toll Plaza Hospital from where the body of the deceased was brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal proceedings.

According to the police, the deceased police officer has been identified as 50-year-old sub-inspector Muhammad Safar Mallah, son of Muhammad Urs Mallah.

He was coming back to Karachi after performing duty from Kachmore area on official duty when he met with an accident.

Meanwhile, a speeding vehicle lost control of the drive and went on the footpath while going from Gulshan Iqbal Nipa towards Mesamiyat in the alleged town area and crushed a 25-year-old man who was sleeping there.

On receiving the information about the incident, the police reached the spot and took the vehicle and the driver into custody and transferred them to the police station, while the body of the deceased was taken to Jinnah Hospital by a concealed ambulance. The body was found by which it could be identified, the police shifted the body to the mortuary for identification.
