Sheikh Rasheed ordered to be sent to Adiala Jail on judicial remand

Islamabad: The local court of Islamabad ordered Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed to be sent to Adiala jail on judicial remand.

After being produced in the judicial magistrate’s court, the police requested for further physical remand of Sheikh Rasheed. The investigating officer told the court that 2 tests have been done on Sheikh Rashid, voice matching has also been done and the photogrammetric test is yet to be done.

During the hearing, Sheikh Rasheed’s lawyer, Sardar Abdul Razzaq, pleaded for discharge of the case and opposed the police’s request for further physical remand, upon which the court rejected the prosecutor’s request for further physical remand and sent Sheikh Rasheed on judicial remand. Ordered to send.

The prosecutor requested for another 5-day physical remand of Sheikh Rasheed, on which Judicial Magistrate Umar Shabbir rejected the request while giving a safe verdict.

During the hearing, the investigator and inspector of the case registered in Mochko police station appeared in the court. The investigating officer told the court that a case was registered on the conversation Sheikh Rasheed had at the polyclinic. Sheikh Rasheed is to be transferred to Karachi.

Shaikh Rasheed’s lawyer, arguing on the demand for transitory remand, said that the provisions in the FIR are bailable. Therefore, it is requested from the court that bail should be approved for the bail bonds. The bail bonds will be sent to the relevant court. Sheikh Rasheed’s lawyer opposed the transit remand.

Later, after hearing the arguments of the lawyers, the court reserved its decision on the remand. Whether Shaikh Rasheed will be transferred to Sindh or not, a reserved decision in this regard will be pronounced later.
