There is further evidence that electrical activity enhances brain function

Boston: Although there has been evidence for many years that mild electrical stimulation of the brain can improve brain function, research on thousands of people has now provided more evidence.

Shary Grover and his colleagues at the Rinehart Laboratory at Boston University conducted this research. They have conducted experiments called ‘transcranial alternating current simulation’ (TACS) with mild electrical currents in the brain. Earlier, TACS was tested on healthy individuals and its beneficial results were observed.

In this process, the volunteers wear a flexible cap with tiny electrodes attached to the bottom that emit a small amount of electricity. But this process is repeated and the brain cells (neurons) are activated by releasing jhamkas in rhythm. Then the current is kept at different frequencies.

In this way the distribution of neurons in the brain is improved. It regulates the firing of neurons and increases brain capacity. In this context, more than 100 published research reports and meta-analyses of studies have been conducted, which have presented the profile of approximately 2800 people.

Experts said that 300 brain functions were noted under TACS and revealed that electrical activity improves all these brain functions. These include memory, attention and concentration. According to experts, if the brain is given electrical activity in the right way, it can have benefits.

Experts also noted that if an electric current is given to one part of the brain, it has positive effects on the other part as well. Some experts also say that brain electrical activity can reduce depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder.
