Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has contacted International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director (MD) Kristalina Georgieva.
According to sources, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif asked MDIMF Kristalina Georgieva for help in completing the 9th review.
Sources say that the budget details have been shared with the IMF in this regard.
Sources have said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also instructed the Ministry of Finance to prepare the budget together with the IMF.
According to the sources, the demands of the IMF on the issue of external financing remain.
Sources have said that the IMF wants to eliminate the difference between the interbank and open market rates in the exchange rate.
Sources further say that 30 days are left for the IMF program to end.
Sources have also informed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif contacted MDIMF Kristalina Georgieva on May 27.
