Chennai: An Indian Army officer in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu ended his life by shooting himself with a government rifle.
According to Indian media, the suicide incident took place at a military training center in Tamil Nadu. The suicide bomber was a constable in the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force and was undergoing training at a training center away from home.
On hearing the sound of the gunshot, fellow officials and officers reached the spot, the body of the constable was lying in blood and there were no signs of life in it. The officer was taken to a nearby military hospital where he was confirmed dead.
A rifle and bullets were found near the body, but no suicide note was found. The incident is being investigated.
The constable has been identified as 32-year-old Jagan. After the necessary action, the body was sent to the native area.
It should be noted that incidents of suicide due to low morale and mental stress are common in the Indian Army, while conflicts also occur in military bases and training centers. Recently, 4 officials were killed in a similar clash.
