Islamabad: In the judicial complex riot case, the anti-terrorism court granted permanent bail to PTI leader Asad Umar.
Judge Raja Jawad Abbas of the Anti-Terrorism Court pronounced a safe verdict. The court confirmed Asad Umar’s bail. Asad Umar’s bail plea was again argued by the newly appointed prosecutor.
The prosecutor stated that it is being said that the accused was present in the Islamabad High Court, even though he was not present outside the judicial complex, bail cannot be granted, there are allegations of incitement and incitement against the accused.
The court inquired that if there is an allegation of incitement, why is it necessary to take custody?
The prosecutor said that Asad Umar is needed by the police for the investigation, the distance between the judicial complex and the High Court is one kilometer, the accused can easily reach the High Court from the crime scene. The court remarked that the media was also present at the scene in large numbers that day.
Lawyer Asad Umar said that FIRs were also filed against people sitting in some houses, Asad Umar did not even pass through the road of judicial complex that day. The prosecutor said that no documentary evidence was given regarding Asad Umar’s presence in the High Court.
