Washington: US Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley has said that Russia cannot achieve its goals in Ukraine through military action.
According to the World News Agency, US General Mark Milley told the media at the end of the virtual meeting with the Ramstein group of dozens of countries that the war in Ukraine may be long, but Russia will not be the winner.
General Mark Milley added that Russia is not going to win this war. Not at all. Ukraine will not be victorious soon. This war could be quite bloody and protracted as the parties do not seem willing to negotiate.
The US general also said that one of Russia’s main strategic goals is to overthrow the government in Ukraine, which it cannot achieve through military campaigns. Despite the presence of millions of troops, Russia will not be able to win.
On the other hand, Dmitry Medvedev, the former president of Russia and the main ally of current president Putin, has also expressed the possibility that the war in Ukraine will continue for decades.
It should be remembered that earlier he also said that Russia’s defeat in Ukraine could lead to a nuclear war.
