Karachi: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif laid the foundation stone of 4 projects related to water supply for Karachi.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Karachi on a one-day visit where he laid the foundation stone of K-4 project. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah were also present on this occasion.
Shahbaz Sharif expressed his opinion and said that today’s four is being inaugurated, how it was dedicated to the cold room, instead of completing it, the prime minister of that time continued to play the tune of thieves and robbers, the highest tax payers. Playing politics on water with the city is a cruel and criminal act, the entire country should benefit from the earnings of the city leader and the residents of this city do not even get drinking water, this is injustice.
The K-IV project will provide 260 million gallons of water per day to Karachi in the first phase. Karachi city currently has a demand of 1200 million gallons of water per day.
The Water Board for Karachi receives about 600 million gallons of water per day from the Hub Dam and Kenjhar Lake (Indus River). K-IV is planned to supply a total of 650 MGD of water to Karachi in three phases.
