Bollywood’s biggest movie of all time ‘Mughal Azam’ hits New York Times Square for a 3 month long tour.
Akbar Asif, son of late legendary filmmaker Karim Asif, has taken the epic stage musical ‘Mughal Azam’ to New York after the Oscars.
Karim Asif belonged to Lahore before partition and many of his family members still live in different parts of Pakistan.
Akbar Asif has taken the film to New York Times Square to continue the legacy of his father who made his name in world history with the film ‘Mughal Azam’.
Viral videos and photos from New York’s Times Square show the musical cast dressed in colorful costumes singing and performing ‘Jab Pyaar Kya To Darna Kya’ on the famous square.
London-based businessman Akbar Asif’s office has made it his life’s mission to show the film worldwide.
The first show will be on May 26, 2023, and will continue until August 20 in Atlanta, New York, Baltimore, Orlando, Chicago, New Jersey, Toronto, Houston, Dallas, Seattle, Vancouver, San Jose and Phoenix.
Based on the 1960’s blockbuster Bollywood film ‘Mughal-e-Azam’, this grand stage musical is the first show of its kind from India.
Earlier, ‘Mughal Azam’ became the first film from the Golden Age of Bollywood to be inducted into the official Oscar Library in Los Angeles.
It should be remembered that the film ‘Mughal Azam’, called the emperor of all films, was so popular that in 2007, it was allowed to be shown in Pakistan as well.
