Recommendation not to give the record of the parliamentary proceedings of the special committee to the Supreme Court

Islamabad: The Special Committee of the National Assembly recommended not to give the records of the parliamentary proceedings to the Supreme Court.

The meeting of the special committee of the National Assembly regarding the provision of records to the Supreme Court was chaired by Chairman Aslam Bhutani. The special committee was taken in-camera as soon as the meeting started with the participation of officials from Ministry of Home Affairs, FIA and Ministry of Law.

In the meeting of the special committee, it was recommended not to give the record of the parliamentary proceedings to the Supreme Court. Speaking in this regard, Chairman Aslam Bhutani said that the decision regarding the record of the committee is being sent to the Speaker.

The special committee summoned former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar’s son Najam Saqib, Mian Uzair and Abuzar Chadhar in the next meeting. Chairman Committee Aslam Bhutani said that the three persons can present their position in the committee on May 31.
