Turkey has summoned the ambassadors of 9 countries for an explanation for closing diplomatic missions and issuing a security alert.
France, Germany, Italy and the US had issued an alert of possible attacks for their citizens in Turkey.
Germany, France and the Netherlands temporarily closed their diplomatic missions in Turkey this week due to security concerns.
On the other hand, Turkey has also warned its citizens in America and Europe against possible racist and anti-Islamic attacks.
Turkish Foreign Ministry sources said that the ambassadors of 9 countries have been summoned, but the sources did not mention the names of these countries.
The US Embassy confirmed that its ambassador will attend the Turkish Foreign Ministry meeting.
Two European diplomatic sources said the ambassadors of Germany, France and the Netherlands were also summoned.
Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said that temporarily closing consulates by Western countries is tantamount to starting a psychological war against Turkey.
