World Cancer Awareness Day is being celebrated across the world including Pakistan today

Karachi: International Cancer Awareness Day is being celebrated on February 4 across the world including Pakistan.

According to a press release issued by the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA), 178,000 new cases of cancer were registered in Pakistan last year and an estimated 100,000 people died of cancer.

Cancer awareness programs are being organized across the country under the auspices of PEMA.

Eminent medical experts in the field of cancer treatment of the country will participate in PIMA’s webinar which will be broadcast live on Facebook at 9 pm.

Central President Pima Dr. Abdul Aziz Memon, Dr. Muhammad Qasim, Dr. Iftikhar Barni and Dr. Abdul Rashid Wahab say that cancer is a curable disease. With timely diagnosis and thorough treatment, a deadly disease like cancer can be cured.

Medical experts emphasize that the chances of cancer can be reduced through a healthy diet and an active lifestyle.
