Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra has revealed that Salman Khan’s role as Chalbal Pandey in his 2010 film Dabangg was inspired by his role in the 1975 film Pratigya.
On microblogging site Twitter, veteran actor Dharmendra shared a scene from his film Prategya with his wife Hema Malani.
In the caption of this post, he wrote that ‘Friends, I will do anything’.
In response to this tweet, a Twitter user wrote that I love this movie and I think the movie Dabangg is inspired by this movie.
Responding to a Twitter user, veteran actor Dharmendra revealed that of course, Salman Khan himself told me that his character was very much inspired by my character.
He further wrote that friends it happens, I myself wished to get the role of Saleem in Mughal Azam Aur Devdas which was played by Dilip Sahib. Following dreams is everyone’s dream.
On receiving the reply from Dharmendra, the said Tutair user thanked him.
It may be recalled that Dharmendra played the role of a policeman in the 70s film ‘Pratgiya’, in which he avenges the death of his parents.
