The Ministry of Finance has prepared an outline of the Budget Strategy Paper for the upcoming financial year 2023-24.
According to Finance Ministry sources, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will brief Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today on the budget targets for the next financial year.
Sources in the Ministry of Finance say that during the meeting, the Prime Minister will also be briefed on the status of the program and negotiations with the IMF.
Sources in the Ministry of Finance have said that a briefing will be given on tax collection targets, budget deficit and government expenditure for the next financial year.
According to Finance Ministry sources, the prime minister will be briefed on defense expenditure, loans and interest payments.
Sources in the Ministry of Finance further say that the initial estimate of FBR revenue is 9.2 trillion, 8 trillion has been earmarked for repayment of loans.
Sources in the Ministry of Finance have also informed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also be briefed on the estimates of the National Accounts Committee.
