Peshawar: In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18 FIRs of terrorism related to violent protests have been registered while a total of 809 people were arrested in terrorism cases.
According to the police report, former provincial ministers and former assembly members are also included in terrorism cases, 5 in Peshawar region, 4 in Kohat region and 3 FIRs of terrorism in Mardan region.
According to the report, 267 people were arrested in Peshawar, 216 in Mardan and 114 people were arrested in Kohat.
Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police conducted raids to arrest former ministers and MPs of Islamabad PTI. Punjab Police was also contacted for arrest in the cases registered under anti-terrorism provisions.
Cases have been registered against more than thirty leaders including former provincial minister Kamran Bangash, Timur Jhagra, Fazal Elahi, former MNA Shaukat Ali under terrorism provisions. In view of the apprehension of former MLAs named in the FIR fleeing abroad, the airports were informed.
