Pope Francis arrives in Sudan today on a three-day visit, accompanied by the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Moderator of the Church of Scotland.
These Christian leaders are visiting Sudan to promote reconciliation and brotherhood to end armed conflicts after the end of the civil war.
Yesterday, armed herdsmen attacked the cattle camp of the opposition group and killed 21 people.
The United Nations Mission in South Sudan issued a statement saying that on the occasion of the visit of Pope Francis, we appeal to national and local leaders to take the path of peace and dialogue.
