Karachi: The spokesperson of Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has issued a response to the demolition action against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Khurram Sher Zaman’s restaurant.
The spokesperson of SBCA clarified that they condemn those elements who are trying to color the illegal demolition of the illegal KBC restaurant as a political vendetta. Claims and propaganda made after a recent action are often a continuation of a campaign in the past.
The spokesman said that regarding the recent campaign against illegal constructions, warning advertisements were published in regular newspapers on May 9, 2023, on which the owner did not take action on his own, then the organization took action against illegal constructions.
The spokesperson said that such accusations are not an act of sympathy towards the city and citizens, but an irresponsible act and an illegal attempt to save illegal constructions. SBCA makes it clear that such pressure and negative propaganda will not be entertained.
The statement added that illegal constructions are leading to the destruction of the city’s infrastructure. Portions/units on residential plots and the termination of commercial use in the category of violation of land use is inevitable. All illegal constructions are a violation of civil rights. Not in the interest of the city and citizens, but to encourage the city and citizens to seek legal action by the SBCA.
