Islamabad: The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) and K Electric have submitted a request to Nepra for the increase in electricity prices.
A request was made by CPPA to increase the price of electricity by Rs. 2 per unit in the context of monthly fuel adjustment.
According to the request, 9 billion 73 crore units of electricity were generated in the month of April, the cost of electricity production was 101 billion rupees. Last month electricity was generated from furnace oil at Rs 23 per unit, LNG was generated at Rs 23 83 paise and electricity was imported from Iran at Rs 23 44 paise per unit.
K Electric has also submitted a request for increase in electricity prices to Nepra. K Electric requested an increase of 48 paise per unit in terms of monthly fuel adjustment, while an increase of Rs 5 17 paise per unit was requested in terms of quarterly adjustment.
It should be noted that Nepra will hear the applications of CPPA and K Electric on May 31.
